Glorious Human Achievement, A: Nelson Mandela, Episode 3

Zelda visits the place where Nelson Mandela was born and finds out more about his parents whom he loved very much but lost at a very young age.

After his father's death, Nelson Mandela's mother took him to Mqhekezweni, where Regent Jongintaba adopted him as his own. He had to say goodbye to his mother and everything he knew.

Nelson Mandela was the first person in his family to receive an education. He performed at school and dreamed of earning a good salary to take care of his mother.

Nelson Mandela decided to study in law. The rights have inspired him and especially the fact that all people are equal, no matter what the color of their skin.

Mandela was arrested when he tried to leave the country with a false passport. Zelda follows his footsteps through Johannesburg to Robben Island where he served his sentence.

Zelda talks to the wardens who have been with Mandela on Robben Island for 17 years. She follows his footsteps until the day they met in the presidential offices.
