White Lies

In this gritty season premiere, Edie Hansen's estranged brother is killed in his mansion. At the crime scene, she tangles with the detective, who has identified her brother's children as the prime suspects.

Edie and Forty Bell butt heads over Pearl's story, and Edie confronts the neighbours, Werner and Nonzi Weber, about what she saw them doing. She investigates another possible lead.

Daniel disappears, and Edie desperately tries to find him without alerting Forty. While investigating further at his school, she is called to identify a dead body.

Reeling from her bitter confrontation with Daniel, Edie tries to terminate her pregnancy. Things go from bad to worse when her editor removes her from the story.

Robert Weber finds himself in hot water when a gun is found in his locker at school. Edie exposes an illicit relationship, and Edie’s editor tells her that her job is in danger.

Daniel overreacts to a news piece accusing him of racism. She tells Daniel startling truths about his father, and tells Avi about the baby. Forty begins to crack under the pressure of his guilt.

Jaime and Daniel barely escape an attempt on their lives, but once again, there is no evidence of the killer arriving or leaving.

In the aftermath of the chaos, the kids prepare for the opening night of the play and Daniel goes ahead with his scholarship interview.
