The Bala Family

For the first time in six years, the Bala family come together for thanksgiving. Silent feuds have led to the family drifting apart. Later, a vow is made by all to mend their broken relationships.

The Bala family book a retreat with a psychologist who helps them unpack their respective hurts, from Zwai not getting invited to Phelo's wedding to Loyiso feeling sidelined for being Christian.

Post the family retreat, the Balas have one-on-one sessions to outline the source of their displeasure. Later, the Bala brothers dissect Phelo's rebellious behaviour.

After eloping, Mama Veronica and Baba Jafta plan to introduce their children to one another to unite their family. Phelo makes plans to turn his life around. Zwai has a heart-to-heart with his son.

Having made peace with the end of his marriage, Phelo decides to redesign his wedding band tattoo. Mama Veronica negotiates for more time with her grandchildren. Pinky is interrogated about her stagnant love life.

Loyiso surprises Mama Veronica and the children with a play date at the arcade. Phelo shares his dreams about love and moving on, but first, he has to get his ancestors' blessings.

Zwai runs late for his cleansing ceremony, meant to cleanse the family of bad luck. Jen and Loyiso celebrate 12 years of marriage, but Mama V wants the couple to observe the Xhosa tradition first.

Phelo pleads to his family to help him through his struggle with depression and alcohol. Tat' Jafta's children feel he moved on too fast after their mother's death.

The Bala siblings want to understand where they stand with their mother since her marriage to Bab' Jafta. Will he be leading the family? Jen believes the elders should be allowed space to enjoy their union.

Jen feels unwelcomed by the family, while Pinky feels Jen is keeping Loyiso and her children away from the Bala family.

Phelo is heartbroken when he learns that Moshe is expecting twins via a surrogate. Pinky breaks down while sharing the difficulties she's facing in life.

Loyiso fights back tears upon hearing that Zwai does not trust him. Ayanda lays down the rules on how Zwai needs to father their child. Loyiso and Jen dedicate their children to the Lord.

Mama V and Tat Jafta get their wish granted when their children finally meet one another. Meanwhile, Mama V wants her children to make peace with her decisions in the season finale.
