Convinced that he is dying, Hlabangani confesses to his wife, MaShandu, that he is the father of her best friend's 21-year-old son.
The whole village is abuzz with news of the dead body that was dropped off at MaNxumalo's yard. Nomvelo and Gogo come up with a plan to get MaShandu to do the right thing.
Gogo and Nomvelo organise a night vigil in MaShandu's absence. All hell breaks loose when MaShandu arrives. Msizi informs MaShandu that Hlabangani is alive.
MaShandu kicks Msizi out of her house. Gogo calls MaShandu's family, and they all go to Phungula's house to fetch Hlabangani's body. MaNxumalo poisons Phungula.
MaShandu pays Phungula a hospital visit and rats MaNxumalo out. When Msizi goes to fetch Hlabangani's body, he learns it's gone and MaNxumalo panics.
While MaNxumalo wonders where Hlabangani's body could've gone, we learn MaShandu has it. Meanwhile, Nomvelo and Msizi seek divine intervention for MaShandu, who they believe has lost her mind.
MaNxumalo confesses to MaShandu that she lost Hlabangani's body. She finally tells her how Hlabangani took advantage of her after hearing she and Phungula couldn't have kids.
MaShandu learns that Hlabangani has discharged himself from the hospital. Hlabangani shows up at the house with cows and pays lobola for MaShandu.
The chief makes Hlabangani and MaShandu apologise to Phungula and MaNxumalo. Meanwhile, Gogo gets an unwelcome visitor, who reveals that Hlabangani stole his cows.
Phungula attacks Hlabangani, and MaShandu abandons him. Hlabangani manages to escape Phungula's clutches, only to find himself in more trouble at home after MaShandu discovers the cows were stolen.
MaShandu orders Hlabangani to do a traditional ceremony for Msizi. Hlabangani goes to the chief and asks for his protection from Phungula.
Hlabangani demands to do a traditional ceremony for Msizi. MaShandu invites her friends over. When Hlabangani sees MaShandu drunk, he realises how much damage he has done.
Hlabangani finally apologises to MaShandu. Phungula allows Hlabangani to do a traditional ceremony for Msizi. Hlabangani's past comes back to haunt him when a pregnant woman arrives unannounced.
