Kokkedoor: Vuur En Vlam, Episode 2

Al sit sout en peper langs dieselfde vuur, plaas die getroue smaakpaartjie die spangees behoorlik onder druk. Biltong, bokkoms en mebos laat beland die braaiers nog meer in die pekel.

Sardyne, seekat en tapas sorg vir sterk onderstrome. Skool vissies is wel veiliger in die bondel, maar die vuurkokke gaan gou uitvind dat hoe kleiner die vissie, hoe groter die braaigevaar.

Die Kokkedore maak potjies met mielies en alledaagse stapelkos. Kokkedoor-veterane Mynhard en Pasch lig die deksels om te proe watter span ’n spens vol kos vir Meals on Wheels losslaan.

The teams strap on their butcher's aprons. Meat saws in hand, they face open-fire chef Shaun Scrooby, who expects elegant five-star safari food from the forequarter and the backquarter.

The Kokkedore pull a rabbit out of the hat after lifting the lid on the strange and exotic. Resting on their laurels they are easily tripped up by familiar lamb chops, boerewors and drumsticks.

The idiom 'too many cooks spoil the broth' leads to a team shocker and Afrikaans sayings inspire new dishes. Rina Hugo, music icon and braai lover, starts things off on a high note.

Teams bring out their passports for a braai trip to fire cultures in faraway lands. Unfamiliar equipment and the weather add pressure as they battle it out for a place in the semi-finals.

The semi-finalists enter the world of fine dining. Award-winning guest chef Jess van Dyk challenges the braaiers to interpret every element of her complex five-star dish over the fire.

The finalists prepare a feast for their guests of honour at the Captain's Table inspired by the sumptuous final meal served on the Titanic. Whose boat will sink and who'll sail to victory?
