The Passion, Episode 2

In the series premiere of this biblical series, Pontius Pilate, the new Roman prefect, grudgingly tolerates the Jewish people, and High Priest Caiaphas wants to keep order at Passover.

Caiaphas wants to keep order at the Passover festival. When Jesus takes his disciples to the Temple and watches the market, he loses his temper, impressing the disciples.

Prefect Pilate worries why the governor of great Syria is about to visit him. Jesus goes against established orders and publicly preaches to his disciples during the Passover preparations and the Last Supper.

Jesus shares his Last Supper with the disciples. Whilst Judas slips away to fetch the Temple guards, Jesus leads the disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane and tries to prepare himself for what is to come.

Jesus' ultimate declaration to be the son of God is taken as his death sentence. Pilate tries to avoid a crucifixion for Jesus, so he offers the people his release or that of the murderer, Barabbas.

In the emotional series finale. As Jesus is taken from the cross and buried, his disciples cower in hiding. Caiaphas, fearful that the body will be stolen, orders the tomb to be guarded. But later, Mary Magdalene discovers it empty.
