Akua alternates between two naïve, uneducated rivals, Ato and Mokoa, unaware of Ato’s true intentions, as their relationship lacks a clear direction or defined commitment.

Akua escapes near rape in the bush and rises to become the chosen wife of the King, transforming her fate dramatically.

King Biadom confesses to Akua that, knowing he is impotent, he convince his first wife, Anima, to sleep with Asenso in hopes of producing a successor for the throne.

In a twist of fate, after Ato agrees to Akua's proposal to sleep with her, King Biadom's manhood unexpectedly regains its potency, making the gods' timing ironic and amusing.

A Seer tells King Biadom that Akua carries a male child, but he has mixed feelings since she admitted to sleeping with Ato the same day, leaving the true paternity uncertain.
