Yes. You need reliable internet with a minimum speed of 5 to 10Mbps. You can use Wi-Fi and/or data, it’s up to you. You can however, control how much data you use by choosing from 3 streaming qualities. To manage this, simply go to Bandwidth Capping in your Showmax app Settings. You can also save data by downloading shows to watch offline on your mobile or tablet with the Showmax app.

Tip: To save costs, download using free Wi-Fi (for example at coffee shops, malls or salons) but please be responsible and adhere to current social distancing regulations.

Streaming means watching videos using the Internet and requires data (Wi-Fi or mobile data). Downloading a show on your mobile or tablet allows you to watch offline. This will save the content to your phone or tablet so you can watch it anywhere, anytime.

The Showmax app lets you download shows and movies to watch offline. It is available for Android and Apple phones, tablets, smart TVs, media boxes, Xbox One and PS4. Go to the app store on your device, search ‘Showmax’, select and download.
